As someone with a gluten allergy, it can be exciting to come across gluten-free desserts. This one was a disappointment. I had the carrot cake. It was average.

Absolutely Stunning Display, Great Breads, Croissant Texture Needs a Little More Work. I recently visited Copains for breakfast while on the hunt for the best gluten-free pastries in Paris, and I was immediately struck by the presentation. The way they display their pastries is absolutely stunning – you truly feel like you've stepped into a haute couture bakery! Each pastry is a work of art, and it's clear a lot of effort goes into their creation. While the pastries looked absolutely beautiful, I personally found that they lacked that authentic croissant texture I've been craving since going gluten-free. It was still good, and I appreciate their dedication to crafting such beautiful gluten-free options, but it wasn't my favorite croissant of the trip. However, their breads are a different story – they are incredibly delicious! I highly recommend a stop at one of their several locations throughout Paris if you're in search of fantastic gluten-free breads and beautiful gluten-free treats. Despite the croissant not being a perfect match for my craving, the overall experience and the quality of their other products make it a worthwhile visit for anyone with dietary restrictions.

With its many branches, Copains is actually one of the go-to places for celiacs in Paris. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met at all. The tarts and pastries are presented openly on small plates, so that the person next to us could easily have gotten a hair on them. There's really no question of hygienic conditions here!! And then the prices are just a rip-off. At other comparable bakeries that offer gluten-free goods, the taste is better, and the prices aren't as outrageous as at Copains. Paying almost 30 euros for a lemonade and two tartes au citron is absolutely excessive, even for Paris. In the end, there was an additional charge of 1.50 euros each to eat on site, a simple wooden bench on a busy street. I find it truly appalling how people profit from other people's health restrictions.
