Yesterday morning, on my cousin's recommendation, we headed from Syracuse to Palazzolo Acreide mainly to have lunch at the Corsino pastry shop. The experience was beyond all expectations and was worth the journey to get there. I had lunch with a sort of beccafico sardine arancino and with a crescent-shaped rustico, with very thin dough, filled with potatoes, onions and pecorino. Both exquisite. Even my husband who is celiac had a varied choice of rotisserie but above all the 2 slices of cake, one setteveli and one composed of ricotta biscuit, walnuts, dried figs and orange flavouring, which were truly high quality pastries. The pistachio and bitter almond granita is also excellent, accompanied by the traditional brioche The super friendly and helpful staff and the welcoming environment made the experience even more pleasant. Absolutely coming back!
