I called to order some pizza. Mind you, I wasn’t familiar at all with the menu but was just trying to figure it out as I went along. I ordered the gluten free pizza, and said I wanted three large pizzas. I asked for cheese, pepperoni, and the last one I wasn’t sure what I wanted. I told her to just surprise me, as I kind of figured she would have tried to recommend their well-known or popular item which is what I was getting at. Through this whole call she was pretty silent most of the time. I could tell she did not find me amusing, and had really little patience with me. I asked about maybe doing pineapple, and she said”why don’t you go to Caporaletti’s since they do that kind of stuff.” But I came here specifically because I had been referred and heard really good things. The line went silent for about a minute or so and then she came back on and said “our computers just went down, so we won’t be able to take any orders for at least an hour” and quickly got off the phone. I had a hunch they didn’t actually go down, but she didn’t want to deal with me. So I had a friend call to try and order right after, and they were able to place an order without any “computer issues.”
I will give her the benefit of the doubt, because I really was kind of all over the place trying to order. But I’ve worked hospitality and customer service for a very long time, and I would never respond the way she was even if I was feeling annoyed. She didn’t try to hide her annoyance. It’s just really unfortunate.
I was really excited for this place. I will say, the pizza was still really good. I think the quality and taste was well worth the price. But this experience alone kind of ruined it for me. We won’t come back. I’m happy I tried it, and sad it was good because the customer service didn’t match for us.
