After years of visiting the Halls Lake area and enjoying the treats at Country Bakery, it was with great trepidation that I returned this summer, having gone from vegetarian to vegan. It's my decision and I am perfectly aware that the VAST majority of baked goodies (outside of my kitchen and specialty bakeries) will no longer be a part of my life. I was prepared to give my partner sad puppy dog eyes as he savoured the bakery's treats...BUT they had vegan brownies (gluten free, which I don't care about, but others will) that made my mouth water. Seriously dense with quality chocolate and not too sweet. I bought 3 for the long weekend and they're gone in 1.5 days. Fingers crossed they have more!
