Some scorching reviews here, so I was a little hesitant to go inside... but it's fine. It's a pie shop in a small town on the road into a ski resort. Not Aldi. The pies we had (pepper) were deep dish, generously filled, tasty, and well cooked. They were pepper mince, not pepper steak - but they aren't advertised as pepper steak, so that's fine. The staff were busy on the ANZAC weekend we were there, and the queue for service was up to 10 long at long at one point, so they were busy, but not too busy to thanks us and say goodbye after we got up from our table to leave.
If you want a gluten free, steamed kale, filo crust Waygu beef infusion, and a chai soy latte... maybe wait till you get to Hotham.
If you want a conversation, get a dog.
If you're hungry, grab a pie from here - you'll be fine.
