Crispelli's Bakery & Pizzeria - Grosse Pointe Woods

I purchased a tomato bisque quart. Upon eating it, I found it had noodles in it, which is not expected for a tomato bisque/soup nor it was in the menu description. I am not to have pasta due to dietary restrictions, thankfully I’m not severely allergic or anything of that sort. I called them and explained what happened, and the staff member told me they keep the tomato soup next to the minestrone which contains noodles. In consequence, cross contamination happened. As a restaurant, you should take this seriously, if a person who is severely allergic to gluten would have eaten this, the consequences could have been very serious. I was issued a refund, however, I have purchased food at Coney Islands who take allergens more seriously. Please do better for your community who give you their business. It’s worth mentioning the soup was salty and watery. Not creamy as it should be.

We had a group of 6 and they were able to seat us right away. The air was blowing on us and our waitress addressed it immediately. The food was delicious. We got pizza, sandwiches and soup. I had grill cheese and the cheese was oosing out of the bread. They have a very nice variety. Their canollies are a must, very fresh. The food and service was excellent and I would recommend it even to go out of your way to visit. We had gluten free allergies in our party and they were very accommodating. They have gluten free buns.

As always, great gluten free options here! The staff at this location are knowledgeable and kind.
