I can't possibly say enough nice things about this place. I always feel safe dining at Crossley Street Cantina's sister restaurant Bodega Underground, and this is another incredible offering from the same owners. Both restaurants have completely gluten-free kitchens safe for coeliacs, and it's a hugely incredible effort from all involved to make these amazing dining options available for us. A booking is a must at either space and boy did it pick up after 6:30pm!
We ordered one of the banquet selections, and it was all deliciously put together. Not a detail was missed or missteppted, and the food was not only tasty but plentiful. Stand-outs were the Brussels sprouts and the burnt Basque cheesecake for dessert. An honourable mention also goes to the slow cooked pork, which came with a mild sauce made from marinated capsicums.
We opted for a bottle of Cava to go along with the meal, but you could easily just have had water or a single glass of wine and spend less than we did. Our total came to less than $120 per person, and we did not leave hungry.
100% must dine - all the staff were attentive and kind, and we got out on time to make it to the theatre as well. In fact, they asked us to make sure they could stagger our dishes closer together.
Absolutely nailed all the things that make a dining experience pleasant, and I'm so excited to come back again!
