Everything was as expected. Nothing was exceedingly good but they offered gluten free options and we were satiated. Probably wouldn’t order, again.

I was staying in the neighborhood and walked here to get a to go order for later in the day. The staff was really helpful in choosing something that would travel well since I was going to carry it home. I got the Italian Sub and added the tempeh bacon, on a gluten free bun. They had just opened and were making the kale salad and it looked so good, I added a container to my order. I ate it a few hours after I got home and it was really good & filling. The bun was awesome as a gluten free choice. It held up well and didn’t get soggy. The kale was fresh & the dressing was light and flavorful.

DC Vegetarian. This place packs vegan proteinaceous flavor in a deceptively quaint decor. It. Was. Awesome. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with a side of wings (sorry, the picture didn't take) and my partner ordered the "Before the butcher burger" and the chicken salad side. These burgers were extremely hearty, textured and not salty & greasy like some other vegan burger spots. We left satisfied without that heavy/overeating feeling, and this was after eating the phenomenal gluten free peanut butter cup... I thought the lack of gluten might make these chalky or crumbly, but they rival Reece's. Great, helpful staff. Patient with my 1358 questions. The mild downside of this place is that fries are only offered on Wednesdays & Fridays, but I don't blame them, they don't have a fryer. It can get pricey, too, if you add cheese/avocado etc and buy desserts. We spent $60 on two burgers, a side of 6 wings (which could have been a meal itself), a side of chicken salad, and 2 peanut butter cups. That stated, 100% Recommend. Cool bathroom decor.
