DERAILED of Bryson City (Anthonys)

What a lovely surprise this restaurant was for our first time in Bryson City. We hiked in Big Creek and a hiking friend recommended Anthonys for lunch after…the pizza was some of the best I’ve ever had. (And my husband said his gluten-free pizza was the best he’d ever eaten, and with gluten-free, that’s not easy achieve!) We were promptly seated and service was spot on. Clean facility, attentive and friendly staff, great mountain vibe… everything was perfect.

My husband and I have eaten here several times and had decent food descent experiences. Today was the worst experience we have ever had. Anthony's was busy as usual but we went put our name on the waiting list, sit they're for 20 to 30 minutes watching groups that had came in after us be seated. I asked the hostess if we were next because several groups that had came after us had been seated, she said we were next. Few minutes pass and we were seated. We ordered a gluten free pizza because my husband has celiacs and we've had this before. Took forever to get the food. The pizza came way over cooked the Crust was so hard you couldn't even cut through it. Our waitress Mandy informed us that's how gluten free pizzas are, which we know they are not, she offered to have us another one made and not wanting to wait another hour we said no its OK. We get ready to leave paid the bill she comes back and says sorry I charged you for the wrong table 159.00 but we corrected it and it should be OK. Our bill was 29.00 my husband says how did that Happen and Mandy goes off, We are really busy and I'm human and humans make mistakes right?! OK we let that slide we leave. We walk around the side to get on our motorcycle Mandy is outside smoking with another waitress telling her what happened calling me an f-ing b××××, and how she done nothing wrong and how we complained about our food. I hope this review makes its way to a manager because her behavior was totally uncalled for and we weren't rude to her at all. We will not be back . THANKS
