A recipe has no soul. You as a cook, must bring soul to the recipe. - Thomas Keller The chef at Dan Dan has exactly done that. The food is class apart. The Ambience is just the cherry on top! It is not just a new classy place in Lahore, the food is delish! So I had some guests over from the US who wanted to try some good Pan Asian food and hearing all the good reviews, I decided to take them there. I am glad I made this choice. The food was thoroughly impressive. For starters we ordered Seaweed tacos which had two variants; salmon and tuna. It is an interesting rendition of sushi in tacos. I personally loved the salmon taco. Tuna was nice too. I would rate it 8/10 For the second starter we ordered assorted dumplings, which included 3 variants: mushroom, Shrimp and chicken. Mushroom was wee bit spicy. My favourite was shrimp dumplings. I would rate it 7/10 For the mains we ordered chicken Pad Thai as it is gluten free. Just like bamboo union's it was excellent. 10/10 We also orders Dan Dan noodles. These are spicy so if you love spice, it's a must try. Their Dan Dan chicken is the best! It's dry, no gravy but the taste is spot on. Definitely a 10/10 A rare find in Lahore is good quality beef which is well cooled beef. We ordered their beef with chillies. It has very light gravy, mildly spicy but very well seasoned. 9/10 From sea food we ordered sweet and sour fish which I think was a little disappointing. Would rate it 6/10. They have lovely garlic rice and egg fried rice. Very basic and a good combination with the mains we orders. 8/10 for both. From a price point, their starters are expensive. Mains are at par with restaurants like PF Chang's. One main can serve 2 people easily. I loved the ambience. Service was good. Very prompt and responsive. Overall lovely experience. Would definitely be going back to try their hotpot and more.
