Dartmoor Inn, Merrivale

If I could give no stars I would, I booked and reserved a table online ,I put in the notes that some of the party were vegetarian or vegan ,and some one was gluten &DAIRY free, so imagine my horror when we get shown to our table ,that less than 10ft away was a table with slabs of dead creature, which was uncovered being cut up by a man ,who then to our horror; walked straight over to our table to take our food order . He did not cover the meat ,nor did he wash his hands. Some of my party brought up concerns, like there was nothing vegan nor gluten free on the menu, to which he responded in a really bad attitude. He seemed to think we ought to know it was a steak-house, even though it did not say so on their website. He argued with us for a while, offering us some char grilled lettuce. He did not know what protein is. A very ignorant and unhelpful person. He even asked out loud " WHAT'S YOUR EATING DISORDED, THEN?" We all left without ordering & none of us will ever be going there again. 3 of us had upset stomachs, from the stench of that pile of uncovered, dead cow. Yuk! Avoid!

Nothing to eat or drink, rude staff. They lied and told us they had vegan food. All soft drinks had added sugar. Salad or roasted cauliflower dose no have enough protein to constitute as a substantial meal. Slabs of raw dead animal being cut up in the dinning room and uncovered. Really disgusting. No decent gluten free option Availing disabled facilities and access.
