Absolutely furious this place just ruined our trip by making my celiac sister extremely sick. We were told a bagel sandwich could be gluten free with just a slight chance of some cross contamination. My sister is usually not sensitive enough to become so sick from cross contamination but she started throwing up as soon as we got home. Called and inquired about the sandwich and what could have gotten her sick and they were rude and unhelpful. No apologies and no offer to help. Went in person as well because I was so worried about what happened and they showed me the bagel they used and it explicitly said contains wheat. They gave me no empathy and almost seemed mad at for being upset. No one said anything about that and even checked with us at the register if it was an allergy when we ordered but failed to tell us the bagel contained wheat. So disappointing and just makes it so much worse they were so rude and unhelpful. Would never come back. Food wasn't even near worth it. FURIOUS

this establishment has absolutely done nothing right in this situation. they made my celiac friend extremely sick by giving her a bagel that says “contains wheat” NOT “may contain wheat” they warned her about cross contamination, which she does not usually get this sick from. the manager is now lying and saying she read the ingredients prior to consuming it, it was marketed as gluten free when obviously it’s not. there was so genuinely apology, no offer for a refund, no sympathy. when we went back to inquire about the gluten mistake they were even unsure which bagels were the “gluten free ones”. they claim they are not a gluten free certified establishment but that does not matter; if you market something as gluten free it is unacceptable that the ingredients say contains wheat. if you plan to use that as a defense you must inform the consumer before. It is wild to me that they can’t just get REAL gluten free bagels. DO NOT claim we have lied about our experience, our friend is extremely sick right now and this is a serious matter.

***response to the manager who appears as though she would survive a harsh winter… if you plan to use the fact that you are not gluten free certified as a defense you should let the customer know this in advance… we were told “there is a chance of cross contamination” not that they are not certified, or that the “gluten free” bagels are not certified gluten free😑Honestly this whole thing sucked but what really sucked is the fact that this was so upsetting most members of our group felt compelled to leave a review and the shift lead responded claiming we are lying💀. We’re not boomers or Karen’s yall just handled this situation very poorly. The icing on top of the cake is that they have yet to take responsibility/accountability or, if they don’t feel as though they are responsible, sympathy even.(for reference they use Sammy’s bagels… they do not come up gf)*** First review I have ever left, but was mind blown at this experience. From the beginning the employees had unhelpful and unwelcoming attitudes, which threw us off initially, but we brushed it off as we were excited to eat here. We are visiting from ft Myers for a birthday trip, and the birthday girl has celiac, so we were excited about the fact that they had gluten free bread as well. She ordered a gf bagel, and we went home. Around an hour and a half after we ate she began throwing up, and we realized she had gotten ahold of something at the restaurant. Understandably we were concerned, so we called to ask about potentially glutinous ingredients, and were met with entirely unhelpful, unapologetic, and unconcerned staff. The girl whose birthday we are celebrating now has to stay home all day, and potentially all night as well(on her birthday) We attempted to speak to the staff in person as well, and when we did, they showed us the bagels used, and wheat was listed as an allergen (not as may contain). Rather than attempting to reconcile the situation, they continued to be defensive, rude, and unapologetic. Unbelievably unprofessional and unacceptable… would not recommend as food was also overpriced and mid.
