Davis NW Smokehouse

So glad we found Davis NW Smokehouse! The New Orleans spin on their food was such a treat. I couldn’t decide what to get, so I went with the 3-meat sampler featuring ribs, chicken, and pulled pork. Every single bite was incredible. The ribs were moist, not greasy, and so flavorful that you didn’t even need sauce – probably the best I’ve ever had! The smoked chicken was absolutely off the charts, hands-down the best I’ve tasted. The pulled pork was flavorful and delicious, too. A delightful surprise was the Jib’s Jambalaya with shrimp – it was bursting with flavor and so satisfying. I also really appreciated their attention to my gluten allergy. I emailed ahead of my visit, and they made sure all my selections could be accommodated. The fries were good, though a touch overcooked and crispy for my taste, but that’s a small detail in an otherwise fantastic meal. This is officially my new go-to spot whenever I’m in Eugene. Can’t wait to come back!

Full disclosure, we knew this would be good because we hired the owner to cater our wedding last year (our friends and family still rave about the food). So when we heard he was opening a restaurant, we had to make the hour drive on a Saturday night for some of the best BBQ around The restaurant is in a great location with such a cool vibe. The chefs came out and talked to our table, everyone was super friendly and our server was so nice. We ordered the brisket, jambalaya, gumbo and the greens. Everything was melt in your mouth delicious and plenty of gluten free options.
