My two daughters and myself had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful place with great food! Our server Carol was nothing short of amazing! My 12 year struggles with finding foods that are gluten-free. Carol was more then helpful with not only recommendations but also ensuring this information was passed to the kitchen. It's really hard eating out these days and having zero complaints and I can honestly say I had none. If your in the area you should stop in and sample they're delicious menu. Make sure to request Carol as you server!

I ate at Deep Lagoon and ordered the gluten-free swordfish blackened. When it arrived, the swordfish was the most disgusting thing I could imagine. It was a very thin (1/3") piece of fish covered with some brown (not black) crap. I tried a bite and it was rubbery and tasted old. I ate 2-3 bites but could not even begin to finish. We asked for the check and when it arrived, the price of the swordfish on the bill was $32 even though it was $29 on the gluten-free menu. I asked our server why the difference, not that the $3 mattered, it was more curiosity. She came back and said the manager told her that they had not gotten around to updating the prices on the menus. I thought when I ordered something and the price states $29, that we have a legally binding contract at that price. Apparently not at this restaurant. I later found out that the group that runs this restaurant is the same group that runs Pinchers in downtown Lakewood Ranch, a restaurant I (and others) consider the worst in the area. No wonder they can't serve a decent meal at Deep Lagoon. I won't ever eat here again. Unprofessional and a waste of time and money.

6:15 reservation. Sat on time. But unfortunately servers in the weeds again during the dinner rush. 45 minutes to get bread (although I don't even eat bread with a gluten allergy) but making the point. Deep Lagoon has its beautiful setting on the water sunset views on its side but some more work with managing tables. Last night was a night of sitting on the covered deck watching servers sweating and running back and forth to the kitchen in a somewhat controlled state of panic while we waited for our server to remember our drinks let alone dinner. Had the captain's platter on the GF menu. Mediocre at best. GM did nice job apologizing and recovering but not until the first manager we spoke with frankly ignored us and the GM came out of the apparently overbooked kitchen to help in the dining room. Unfortunate.
