Diablo Burger

My aunt and I both have celiac and a dairy allergy. We shared a burger on a gluten free bun with fries. The staff is FANTASTIC! Very knowledgeable, extremely helpful, all while being extraordinarily friendly. Often it feels like our food issues are an imposition when we eat out, but not here! The gluten free bun is also dairy free. It does look more like an English muffin than a bun, but in my opinion that’s great because there is absolutely no mistaking their regular bun for their gluten free bun, and it tasted great too. It was recommended that we have the burger cooked medium rare, so we tried it that way. For both of us it was a little less cooked than we would ordinarily choose, and I think next time we will go with medium well just because of our own weirdness about the way we prefer our ground beef cooked. That said, even still, the burger was excellent and the fries were fantastic! Often we go to places with safe options for our dietary issues, and it’s clear that our husbands would not feel like the food was hearty enough. This place has thick hearty burgers that would satisfy the biggest carnivore. We will definitely be back, next time with our gluten and dairy consuming husbands! What I liked: a grass fed burger on a gluten-free English muffin with quality toppings, cooked to temp, with expectations being set by signage all around the entrance and ordering area; the fries are never frozen and are cooked in peanut oil, which for me is preferable to canola or other seed oils; getting a cash discount and tipping the cow! The food was fantastic! The indoor seating has high-top copper tables, which can leave a metallic aroma on your hands or bare arms, so we sat outside at a wooden low-top shared with a great couple and their fur-baby. It was wonderful!!

This is a wonderful place to eat a jucy burger with well seasoned flavorful fries. I have to eat gluten free, and this is a safe place for me to go. Ask them for a gluten free bun! You will not be disappointed, the buns are sent from a gluten free bakery in Tucson, and they separate where they make your burger. If you are not a meat eater, they have options! If you arn't super hungry, order a basket of fries seasoned with deliciousness. I use this place as one of the only setifiably safe places to eat out at, and I am greatful for the accommodating and welcome environment. I highly recommend for any occasion. There is indoor seating with music or out door seating with a view of the center of downtown. They keep it simple, but I always enjoy eating here.
