Diamond Belle Saloon

The Diamond Belle is situated within historic The Strater Hotel. I’ve been coming for years. We have a summer home just outside Durango. The Diamond Belle has maintained the historic look of old western bars. They have a honky tonk piano player in the evening. The food is very good. We’ve had pretty much everything on the menu. My favorites are the Italian Grinder and French Dip. My wife has to eat gluten free and has never been disappointed. Their gluten free bread is one of the best she’s had. Service is excellent. Staffing is a real issue for them. As a tourist area, it’s hard to predict what staff might be necessary. When the dining room gets very busy, the executive staff will come out and assist the theme/dressed wait staff. All in all, the Diamond Belle saloon is a great place to get a drink or eat a meal when spending the day in Durango. We’ve been coming for almost 50 years.

Good food. In 3 days of visiting Durango we ended up selecting this as the best in terms of price vs food quality. It's not cheap, but we always had something good and a few things that were excellent. The staff is what made this a place to come to. Amazing they were in accommodating a gluten allergy, from the wait staff to the chef who made up special gravy for my friend. They also were just friend, on top of things like empty drinks and always had a smile for us when we came back.
