Don at Kitsilano

This was our first visit to "Don at Kitsilano". They'd run out a few of the gluten free items on the menu, but I was able to find substitutes. The food was wonderful! We all enjoyed our meals. I had beef tartare as a starter, and beef cheeks for the main. Both dishes were fabulous!! If you want to be sure of a table, make a reservation. As a party of 4, we were very glad we had reserved a few days before our visit. We are already planning our next visit! Thank you so much everyone.

Restaurant options on 4th are plentiful and delicious. Don at Kitsilano fits in near the top of the list. My wife is gluten intolerant meaning many times menu options are limited. As such, she pays a lot of attention to the ambiance. The ambiance here was warm, pleasant, with a natural feel. Tops marks by any standard. This was our first visit so we've only tried a few things. However, everything was carefully prepared and plated with excellent flavors. The only catch to be prepared for, and I mention this not as a negative but rather so you know what to expect.. The food delivery time was a bit on the slow side. The staff is basically two and as I watched, both were very engaged in their tasks with care, and we're very pleasant and helpful. I think offering multiple items prepared exquisitely just takes time. In short, the food was absolutely worth the wait. 100% I recommend Don's. 100% I'll be going back and looking forward to it.
