The brewery shop is owned by the guys at the pub across the road. Both are worth a visit.
Me and my dad emailed and arranged a brewery tour which was fantastic. Mike, who runs the brewery was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the building, the pub, the brewery and the brewing industry in general. We had a couple of hours of his time and sampled 5 of the brewery's beers, as well as seeing round the pub and brewing equipment, learning about the process all along.
Due to the clarifying process they use, all beers produced are gluten-free and tested as being so, but this is a proper brewery making good beers first and foremost. Mike and Tim are constantly working on new recipes while maintaining production of their classic ales and porters.
It's really reignited my dad's and my interest in ales and home-brewing. Immediately after the tour, we bought a few bottles from the shop then went to the pub for another pint.
Highly recommended for anyone interested in brewing or looking for a good beer!
