Editing to add: We followed up with management and they were very apologetic for our experience and so I have increased my rating of the service to reflect that, although keep in mind that it is a pub and the service generally reflects that. I am still leaving this up just to keep folks informed in case they need to make decisions about where to eat based on dietary restrictions!
I am part of a group that is partially gluten free. Duggan's Boundary used to be a great place for us because they had a really awesome gluten free menu where us celiacs and non-celiacs alike could hang out on the BEAUTIFUL patio and enjoy the live music.
Recently, they changed the menu so there are very few things that are gluten free, and the modifications from the original were not made transparent. They also charge 5$ for gluten free modification, whether that's a gluten free bun or a few leaves of romaine to make a "lettuce wrap".
Our service the last time we went was characterized by confusion about the amount of gluten free buns that were available, and some folks ended up with gluten free buns when they hadn't ordered them and incorrect entrees that garnered a "What do you want me to do about it" from our server and insistence that they had brought out the correct order. Considering the number of folks in our group affected by gluten, we were collectively concerned about the lack of attention to detail and concern about our needs.
It honestly tears me apart to write a negative review about this place because it has such a good vibe and used to be our go-to patio and pub for the inclusive options. Unless Duggan's Boundary is able to be more welcoming to us, we will be seeking out other options.
