Dukes on the BLVD

Duke's is easily one of our favorite places to eat in Jefferson City. The food is excellent, menu has great mainstays and an excellent rotating seasonal menu, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. My only issue is with the gluten free accommodations. We read there were gluten free options and thought it would be a safe place for our friend with celiac to eat based on the reviews and questions answered when we arrived. Unfortunately, even with mentioning his celiac and the request for gluten free everything for him, he still ended up with a regular hamburger bun and was down for the last two days of his vacation due to the glutening. We all should have double checked when the food arrived at the table, but with all of our indications up front, did not think to do so. Won't stop us from eating here or recommending Duke's, but we unfortunately won't be bringing either of our friends with celiac here when they visit. And for those unaware, celiac isn't being gluten free because it's a "fad," it's an autoimmune disease; the body sees gluten as a foreign invader, like flu or a cold, and acts accordingly. It's debilitating and the effects of being glutened lasts for days. If you work in food service, please make yourself aware of all food sensitivity and understand how cross-contamination can impact a meal.

First time there and food was amazing. The jalapeno cheesy grits were fantastic and they had gluten free buns. Best experience ever🥰

We tried the restaurant today and i eas disappeared. I paid extra for a gluten free bun and it just crumbled in pieces. For the price so not worth it.
