We felt like the youngest people at lunch. This place is a boomer-magnet, lots of white-shoe retirees crapping on about golf.
Food was really good. Vegetarian options were a bit sparse but serviceable.
Service was excellent. When my dining partner told the waitress she was coeliac, we ended up with boundless advice about which dishes to consider and which ones to avoid. Waitress took several trips from the kitchen after we ordered to pass on confirmation details or questions from the chef. Very attentive to her needs, couldn’t ask for more.
… Which ameliorated the “oof” factor just a little bit. Two main courses, a glass of wine and a glass of soft drink came to more than $100. Probably the most expensive lunch for two I’ve ever had in Australia.
If not for the excellent service, I might have been a bit annoyed about that, but I’m not marking it down in my star review because we really did get what we paid for.
