My husband really enjoyed his shrimp poboy. Difficult to find gluten-free options for me but the staff was extremely good at making sure that what I got was gluten free. Also one of the most efficient/friendly waitresses we've ever had eating out. Other staff was also extremely friendly. Would highly recommend and the would go again.

If I could rate this 1/4 star I would. Do not recommend this restaurant. We have tried ED’s in the new location a few times each time it was more disappointing. The service was mediocre and the food was not worth the 45 minute wait. First, “gumbo broth” is a roux and should have both taste and color to it, not look and taste of dirty dishwater. Shrimp and Grits: the shrimp were microwaved frozen salad shrimp with no color, not de-veined and not seasoned. Served on grits which were more polenta than grits & were solid and not seasoned. The “shrimp” and grits were the same bland color. How unappetizing. Catfish and Grits: Fried catfish should have some crunch or crisp to it, especially when battered and fried. The batter should stick to the fish & be seasoned. This is not the case. Mushy fried fish atop unseasoned grits is what is served. Both dishes are covered in gumbo broth and slimy greens in a failed attempt hide the sadness of the dish. Conecuh Sausage Fries: Why would anyone batter perfection in sausage? Especially with a batter that is not seasoned and tastes of old grease? Local restaurant carries local sausage should highlight the local ingredient not make it into something inedible. If you have a food allergy of any kind this restaurant is not able to accommodate you, even if they claim they can. Not gluten friendly at all. I messaged the restaurant, they received the message, no one ever responded. We spoke to the server about the poor experience, no one ever came to the table or returned my call. Ed’s on the causeway I never had these issues and we ate there frequently.
