I booked a visit at the cafe on a whim on my birthday (maybe also to talk my partner into possibly adopting a new family member into the family - it worked). This was a really nice experience. The visit is very structured which is really well done: - You arrive 10 minutes early and get set up with the rules. (Not pick up the dogs, tell the stuff when you need to use the loo or anything else and they happily help you out as the dogs will stress when you just stand up and they don't know you, it all makes sense and they will give you an explanation.) - Then you get let in at the start of the session, put away coats and bags, sit down on one of the couches with a little blanket for the dogs to be comfy. - The dogs get let in from another room and can freely choose their person. We ended up having a slightly grump Lady Bee (which really seemed to love my boyfriend and eventually just snored away on him) and Faery. - You remain like this for some time, just relaxing and sitting with the dog, ordering your snack and drink (which is very good as vegan and gluten free options are available). - Then about half way the dogs are moved to the backroom (with treats) so everyone can move to the floor for puppy play time (I love this handling because Chihuahuas are easily ruffled by sudden movements especially from strangers). - It was a lazy Sunday so we all decided to just sleep which was still nice. The staff is doing a great job making sure the lil ones are all happy and also that every guest will eventually have a little friend. Sometimes it needed a little moving but I think as they are used to being handled (by the employees) this is fine and I liked that they made sure that the little girl in the group also got a little more attention as she was really happy! - Eventually the dogs were led into the other room and we all resumed our seats. Also the dogs get plenty of treats and are not unattended in the separate room. - After that it's just rest with the dogs until the end. We had a really nice little group that was happy to just see and pet some dogs. They like the staff and the staff likes them. If you ask they can tell you a lot about each dog and I loved the whole vibe. It was a very safe place and I think this will be also a very accepting place for everyone from anywhere, of any gender and so on. Thank you for a great birthday and I'm sure I will be back to see them all again!
