Ego at Fox & Dogs, Mere Green

So disappointing. Have been several times before and had really good meals so our party of 8 decided to go for our pre Christmas lunch. We had pre ordered from the festive menu. My chicken liver pate was ok though a tiny portion served with three huge slices of toast. The boeuf bougignon was barely edible it was so salty and I had to leave most of it. The lemon tart tasted past its best with barely cooked pastry and three dots of raspberry coulis! Those having the fish complained it was very dry and overcooked and only one of the 8 actually enjoyed her meal - which was the gluten free option. We all wondered whether many of the items on the menu were actually cooked from scratch or were ultra processed bought in dishes? Service was slow and indifferent. Altogether not a memorable experience.

great place only 4 stars because of drink selection, four oaks has an organic range now, purity lager organic gluten free its amazing, and at £6 its the reason i go there, please add this on the barrel!
