El Armadillo Mazunte

Wow. Let’s start with the atmosphere: wonderful, warm, and dim-lit. Very romantic and relaxed. The first time we tried to have dinner here, there was a 40 minute wait. The second time, we missed our reservation (entirely our fault) and so also couldn’t be seated for another 40 minutes. This is definitely a reservation place! In the end, I’d heard such great things about Armadillo that I couldn’t leave without trying it — so we got takeout. And honestly, it lived up to the hype. The beet salad was unlike anything I’ve ever had. Definitely the star of the show! The falafel was flavourful and complex, in all the right ways. The gluten free bread was also divine! Don’t get me started on the almond cookies!!!! Buttery soft and melt-in-your-mouth type decadence. Gluten free, too! Shoutout to the team for letting us borrow some utensils too! Talk about service :)

Plenty of gluten free options that are clearly marked on the menu. The food is absolutely delicious and huge portion sizes. Everything is vegan/vegetarian as well. Highly recommend the Moroccan Plate which would easily do as a full meal between two people. Very keen to come back to try some of the other menu items!
