Elixir Espresso Bar

My fiance is gluten free and we had no idea she was in for such a treat. Great food and coffee.

Elixir Espresso Bar was a disappointing experience, to say the least. As someone who appreciates quality coffee and pastries, I was thoroughly unimpressed with what I received. The cortado I ordered was one of the worst I’ve ever had. The espresso lacked depth and balance, and the oat milk was poorly steamed, resulting in a drink that was neither smooth nor enjoyable. While the café offers a variety of gluten-free pastries, the ones containing gluten were notably low quality. The apple Danish I tried was made with subpar ingredients, leaving an unpleasant, greasy residue on my teeth. The filling lacked the fresh, natural flavor you’d expect from a well-made pastry. Overall, the experience fell far short of expectations, especially for a place that positions itself as a specialty coffee and pastry bar. I would not recommend Elixir Espresso Bar to anyone seeking a refined coffee or pastry experience. There are far better options in the area.

By far my favorite coffee shop in pacific beach! The ambience is just as wonderful as their coffee/food. The breakfast crepe and gluten free donuts are to die for. 10/10 recommend. They also have a beautiful location in La Jolla!
