Elma

Elma is my favorite restaurant. I've eaten in NZ, Europe, Africa. Elma is better. Turkish cuisine with French technique on Okanagan lake. Ebony is a gem of a server. The cocktails dont mess around. They are celiac smart. The chefs absolutely rock it; always. Everything about this place makes me want to move to Penticton. I am always so grateful to visit Elma and I am always sad when I have to leave. Bittersweet. This is the only place in the Okanagan that is mandatory.

I was really excited for this dinner due to the high rating but unfortunately was really disappointed with this restaurant. Our server wasn’t friendly and made it feel very snooty and uncomfortable. The servers weren’t very accommodating of dietary restrictions. I’m celiac and they were unable to provide safe GF options for any of the carbs (potato, bulgar, pita) so I left quite hungry. They also never came back with an answer on if the feta was pasteurized which is necessary during pregnancy. Our server told us this was ‘elevated dining’, but this really missed the mark, certainly wouldn’t return.
