Essential by Christophe

One of the most amazing places we've been. Every dish was exquisite. The flavors, the textures, the meat/fish choices, the bread including the gluten free selections. Christophe came out to chat with us after the meal and it was obvious he has a true passion for what he does, and it shows in how dishes are prepared. His staff was amazing, taking plenty of time to describe the ingredients and preparation that goes into each dish. Not cheap, but worth every penny. You must go when in NYC.

This is our new favorite restaurant in New York. We went on a Saturday night to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Chef Christoph himself came out to personally greet us. We asked him a few questions and next thing we know we were treated to a number of complimentary items. He was so personable and him just coming out to talk with us made all the difference- even if we didn’t get anything for free. We asked what he would order if he were us, and next thing we know he had completely taken care of us. My wife has celiac, and everything was gluten free. The service from everyone was amazing - easily the best we’ve had in NYC so far. On top of that, the food was world-class. It was an adventure and we tried things we’ve never even heard of. An amazing experience. They did absolutely everything right from start to finish. The only way to run a restaurant in my opinion.
