Having moved from San Fransisco, CA and a professionally trained chef - I'm a little picky about my food. This is the first restaurant that delivered - well seasoned, fun menu, farm to table with seasonal options. A great play on a lot of classics - and open to gluten free, vegetarians, and vegans. I adore their blue corn waffles, but nothing I've had here goes wrong. Having a family member with celiac - they were attentive with her needs and helped every step of the way. I'd highly suggest it, I can't stop going especially on Sundays for their brunch menu. Both inside and outside - inside is a little more like eating inside of a shop, but it allows you to look at all the fun local goods they have! (Try the chocolate beet tart, fantastic)

I hate to leave such a negative review, because overall this seems like a pretty neat place. We came by around lunchtime this past Saturday. There were kolaches or some similar pastry in the pastry case. Some of them were wrapped and labeled gluten-free. The others were not wrapped. I told the server that I wanted the gluten-free pastry, and he gave me an unwrapped one and informed me that they were the same pastry, the wrapped ones were for to-go orders. I asked him if he was sure and he said he was. I don't know if there is serious cross-contamination in your kitchen, if the product was mislabeled, or if the server was misinformed. I have celiac disease and in the decade or so since I was diagnosed, I have never been so sick. I was truly violently ill for hours Saturday evening/night. Having celiac disease, you take on a certain amount of risk every time you eat at a restaurant, that's a given. But again, with all the possible cross-contamination I've come across in 10 years, I've never had such a strong reaction. My gut feeling is that the unwrapped pastries were not GF and that the server was misinformed. I would have preferred to send this information to the company privately, but the website doesn't seem to be working. And I guess it's good for other people with allergen issues to be aware of. I hope you all take steps to figure out what happened and to fix the problem. I'll personally be recovering from this for some time. Just for your reference, this was 2/1/25, around 2PM.
