Famoso Italian Pizzeria - Highstreet, Abbotsford

I've eaten hundreds of Famoso pizzas over the years, starting in Edmonton long ago. It's been my go-to pizza place for a long time because of the excellent ingredients and especially the soft, chewy crust that bubbles in the oven and had a texture that I hadn't experienced outside of brick oven pizzas in New York. I loved being able to get that kind of quality in my own neighbourhood. That's why I was so disappointed on my last visit to Famoso in Abbotsford last week, something has changed in the crust. It tasted like cardboard in flavour and texture. Famoso pizza just isn't special anymore and I'm so sad about that. My guess is that to reduce costs they've replaced the 00 flour with regular high gluten North American flour and ruined it. They took away my reason for going back.

We love Famoso! The service is always outstanding. The food is amazing. Their gluten free crust is the best anywhere. We always get the Cicilian. Their meatballs are the best in the land! They have great drink specials. Their take out is fast and convenient, too. It's located in Highstreet Mall, so there's lots of parking.
