Farnley Tower Hotel

This little guest house is a brilliant find. We booked it for a few days so that we could attend a wedding and explore the beautiful city of Durham. It's location is perfect. It's a short walk to the centre of Durham. It is up a hill but it's not too bad, my partner and I managed it after a few cocktails so can't be too bad! The hotel itself is very good. Its a nice old building and there's adequate space to park. The entrance way is a little narrow so if you have a wide car take it slow! It's got a beautiful outlook over Durham, it's genuinely a really nice view. It's also super quiet and is surrounded by residential properties. We were welcomed by their wonderful hotel manager Anna (a nicer and more helpful woman you would struggle to meet!). We scheduled breakfast and were advised where our room was. She provided a map of the city and explained the best way to walk in too which was helpful. The room itself was bright and airy. I think it was probably one of the best as it was right at the front of the hotel. The bed was enormous and comfortable, the bathroom modern and up to date. The breakfast was really good too. There's a nice selection and there's also continental options too. It also looked like there was an effort made for gluten free options too. We weren't able to try the restaurant underneath as was fully booked but their cocktails were good! Essentially, if you want to book a stay in Durham look no further.
