I was really excited to try Feed and was really prompted to come by the reviews. For reference, We came on a Sunday afternoon, no wait and it wasn’t very busy throughout the restaurant.
I’ll start with the positives then move on to why I’m only giving 2 stars.
1) Our server was very kind and as attentive as he could be. It looked like the restaurant may’ve given him more than he could handle. He did great with his composure- anyone would’ve been overwhelmed.
2) the chicken wings were out of this world good.. probably some of the best I ever had.
3) Gluten free buns were very good! That’s hard to come across.
Some negatives:
1) due to the server being overwhelmed, service was very slow. Not only were our drinks empty and saw no server for 30 min at a time, the surrounding tables had to yell out to passing servers for drink refills.
2) our food took over an hour to come to the table from ordering, and that was after it took 30 min for our server to receive the order. We were there almost 2.5 hours, really cutting into our Sunday plans. We noticed it wasn’t just our table- it was a recurring theme with all the tables surrounding us and it was clear tensions were rising as food times were so slow.
3) We were really excited to try the Brussels sprouts we heard so many good things about. We got them and they were cold and raw. It seemed like they char them in advanced then warm them up, maybe? The ends weren’t cut off properly and a lot of my Brussels sprouts were like eating wood chips. I couldn’t get past eating a few.
4) I got the brunch beef and grits with poached egg on time. The meat was good, however the grits were cold and the poached egg wasn’t what a poached egg should be. It was also cold like it had been sitting and there was no runny egg. It was a hard yolk.
5) my daughters butter noodles, the one thing that is near impossible to mess up, were hard like they’d been sitting under a lamp for 45 min.
6) Due to all these food errors and lack of service, it was very hard to reach someone to complain to to rectify the situation. Truth be told we didn’t want to stress the server more by complaining.
This wasn’t the most expensive restaurant experience, but for $80 for two adults and 1 kid we expected to have a much more elevated experience. We own restaurants and have worked in restaurants in different capacities, so we understand the ins and outs however this experience could have been avoided all together with right systems in place. We were really disappointed.
