Fika Bakery & Coffee

Fika is one of my most favorite stops when we come up to the Northwoods. This trip I discovered how incredibly easy it is to place a bakery order and an order for the latte in a jug. It’s brilliant. The best part is the gluten free options they have and so I indulged and ordered a dozen gluten free strawberry basil muffins. The strawberries come from Clearwater Farms just down the road from the cabin we are staying in. This will now become a tradition on our trips - place an online order for a special treat for the week.

We heard about this place from a neighbor and it was great! Excellent gluten free French silk pie!! Sweet, airy creamy filling with a deliciously balanced crust that had a hint of salt. The only thing that could be improved would be if the crust was just a bit softer, so I could easily get a piece of the crust in every bite. However, it's gluten free, which is generally more challenging to bake. We'll be back next week to try out the cake!
