As a picky eater and a coeliac, we were over the moon with our dinner at Filippo's last night. The service was fantastic, they went over and above to ensure we were happy with the food and even made an off-menu cocktail for my husband after he provided the ratios (this was possible as we were there early and it was reasonably quiet plus it was a simple cocktail, we wouldn't expect it and it was a lovely surprise).
The bases for the gluten free pizzas and garlic breads are made offsite as they recognise that the cross contamination risk of making them onsite in the same kitchen as the standard bases is too risky for coeliacs - massive thumbs up from me! They also cook the gluten free bases on trays for the same reason.
We shared a gluten free garlic bread for starter and they were happy to do half with cheese and half without. This was the best garlic bread I have had (I had the cheesy side) in YEARS and certainly since being diagnosed with coeliac disease. For our mains we chose a meat pizza (standard base, no cheese) and salmon pasta (gluten free pasta). My husband said the pizza was the best he can remember having, and my pasta was also very good although I'd probably go for pizza next time as the gf bases were so good.
