I’ve been enjoying Fionns for the past 4 years, it’s a family favourite. My teen and preteen daughters always find something they love and my youngest is a picky hard to please kiddo when it comes to food. I eat a gluten free diet and always have plenty of options. My go to is the cob salad or the Cajun salmon bowl (I substitute for chicken) they’re very accommodating and fulfill all the substitutions I request. From the moment we walk in we are greeted by a friendly host and then a server who always seems to go above and beyond. On some occasions a manager pops by to say hi and see that everything is meeting our expectations. Truly a gem in Winnipeg that needs to be put on your restaurant go to bucket list.

Not a place for people with allergies/intolerances. My husband is gluten intolerant, the menu showed the gluten free symbol to watch out for, but there are very few items to select from, and the staff are not educated on the topic. There isn't a single GF appie available (tortilla chips are an easy GF option, but this restaurant buys tortilla chips that contain wheat flour). He ended up getting the steak frites (this is not GF, he knew that), and just ate the steak (requested medium rare, the one side of the steak was burnt and well done). The fries tasted stale in both his meal and my poutine. I wanted a burger, but all that's offered is an "egg bun"; a no go for me (allergy). For $15 the poutine was very disappointing. Stale fries aside, the gravy tasted burnt and it appeared I got the bottom of the cheese curd bag that also may have been frozen. Even with the hot gravy, the cheese curds were ice cold. Also waited 45 minutes for the food to come out.
