Firehouse Subs Titus Landing

My daughter, who has Celiac, had read good things about Firehouse Subs so we decided to try out the Titusville restaurant. We were happy to see the "Gluten Free Buns" sign on the door. Generally when restaurants advertise their GF options they also have a protocol in place to minimize the risk of cross contamination. But, when I asked, the cashier told me that "only the buns are gluten free, not anything else". Since vegetables and most meats are naturally GF I assume that she was talking about the risk of cross contamination? Other sandwich shops generally offer to change gloves, put a piece of foil down on the prep surface, get the ingredients from the back/bottom, etc. (I'm not sure if this is really company policy to say that only the bread is GF or if it was a training issue with the cashier but either way it didn't seem at all safe for my daughter so we left.) (BTW- I hated to leave a public review without emailing a manager first but unfortunately there is NO e-mail address on the restaurant web site at all.)
