Five Guys Burgers and Fries on Stone Church is undoubtedly a great spot. It's unfortunate that the location on Centennial Parkway has closed down, as many considered it superior. This has, understandably, led to increased crowds at this Stone Church branch.
Now, let's talk about the food, which truly shines. The burgers here are top-notch. However, it's essential to address the cleanliness and organization within the restaurant, which leave much to be desired. This may stem from staffing issues or negligence. On our visit, we noticed a lack of peanuts, poorly stocked napkins, and overflowing garbage bins, even during non-peak hours around 7:30 PM.
One unique aspect to consider is the request for tips, which can feel somewhat out of place for a fast-food establishment. After all, tipping isn't customary at places like McDonald's, so it raises questions about why it's expected here. Many customers, including myself, choose to decline this request, signaling a need to reevaluate tipping norms within fast-food settings.
On a positive note, Five Guys does offer vegetarian and gluten-free options, and they handle these dietary preferences with care. The real stars of the show are their exceptional burgers and the best-in-class fries. If I were rating the food alone, it would easily earn 5 stars. However, the overall experience falls a bit short due to cleanliness and the peculiar tipping practice.
