Flame: Asian Bistro & Bar

Went here after getting a coupon from the local nail salon. Our experience was positive overall and there are just a few tweaks that we feel could have made this a 5-star experience. The signature drinks were good, although a little expensive for the area. If I am not in downtown Charlotte I expect to pay less for a drink. $17 for a cocktail in a suburban area seems a bit high. We tried the beef cubes and the crispy duck. The beef cubes were incredible and I would be back just for this dish it was gluten free which also meant my wife loved it. The crispy duck was not what we expected and was a bit of a let down as the skin was not crispy, the meat was marinated which meant it was tasty but the texture was different then expected and it had bones that were cut through and therefore caught us off guard a few times. Service was good but could use a little bit more if you are paying $30+ dish and $50+ per person for 1 entree and 1 drink. I expect a high level of service for those prices. The reason for 4 stars was just because the service was good for a sports bar but not for a restaurant trying to appeal to an upscale clientele. I expect my water to be remain filled without having to be ask the waiter, I expect a clean plate with my entree. Just small things. We will likely still be back as it's very convenient to us and overall was a tasty meal and good drinks.

IF YOU’RE THINKING ABOUT GOING, GO! Staff is kind. I love their Citrus Glazed Beef meal. It is absolutely delicious! They have several Gluten free options too.
