Amazing curry meets pub food. While a combination I've not seen done elsewhere, it works quite well. I enjoy curry and spice, while the wife (coeliac) tends to enjoy non-curry dishes. So we found the best of both worlds at Flames. We went two nights in a row, since I wanted to try a couple of dishes. They were super accommodating for spice level, happy to do very mild all the way up to nicely spicey for me. The Flames Masala Fish is so far my favourite dish, and their biriyani is wonderful, though was less spicy than I'd prefer. Nice quiet atmosphere, music lightly in the background, cricket on the TV, but not a loud or overwhelming place to enjoy a meal and a chat with friends. As mentioned before, my wife is coeliac, and all of the items that were marked gluten free on the menu were made with care after we advised them of the allergy. She had no reaction to either of her meals. We'll definitely be back to Flames the next time we're in the Toowoomba area.
