I found this place about a month ago. The owner let me place a to go order a few minutes after closing since they hadn't closed the kitchen yet. It was so good I was back the next day for lunch! I now eat here about 4x a week. I am from the bay area, so I love Indian and all ethnic food. So excited to have an authentic local place.
When I first started coming, they were ironing out some kinks. So it makes sense that a lot of the poor reviews where when they first opened. The buffet is much better than when I first started coming!
My favorite dishes are the Chili Chicken (best I've had ANYWHERE) and the Malai Kofta which is a first for me. In the buffet, its only $10 for weekdays all you can eat and is delicious. It is a larger spread than when they first opened. The owner says as they get busier, they will be adding more items too. I love rating an indian restaurant based off of their chutneys, and theirs are superb. I'm very sensitive to being gluten free, and I have never gotten a contamination here. Everything but the naan bread and samosas are gluten free.
I love this restaurant so much. Super friendly, and feels like family. They can get really busy on weekend evenings, so I would call ahead for a reservation or expect a little wait at peek times.
NOT RELATED to the Indian Restaurant in Reno by the same name. I almost didn't come here because of it (I found Reno's food to be inedible.)
