Live local to this establishment but last night was our first ever visit, to give it a try. Its a nice place inside. It was pretty dead but it was 4th of July, to be expected.
I wish i could remember our waitress name because she was the highlight of our night there. Older woman, very friendly, attentive & just a great waitress. On point, cares a lot & great service. It seems whenever we go out, we get the complete opposite at other places. Like, where is our waitress? Its been 15-20min, am i ever gonna get another drink, etc.
The food however, was not the best. A little high priced for what you get too. One of my kids had gotten the chicken tenders & fries. The fries might have been the best tasting food we ordered of the night. My daughter didnt like the chicken & wouldnt finish it. My wife told me to try it & see if it really wasnt good. I did, & it was decent. It was the kind of breading & tasted like chicken you would order from many diners. Like shake and bake. Its a required taste & not like chicken tenders elsewhere. I ordered the Big pig burger. Which was supposed to have jack cheese, breaded onion straws, bacon & bbq sauce. Upon receiving, i was a little unimpressed. I thought it was just a regular cheeseburger because it was all you could see & the bun. When i opened my burger it was just a little sprinkle of onion straws in the middle & bottom had very thin crumpled broken pieces of bacon. It was also missing bbq sauce but our awesome waitress brought out a side of it for me, when i let her know it was missing. Overall, the burger and little portion of fries you get for the price, left a lot to be desired. It did taste good though. I honestly could've gotten a better burger at Chilis or Red Robin where they dont skimp on onion straws and bacon. I did order the burger medium, but it was very rare. I just went with it & ate it though. Cheesesteak rolls, were pretty dry & lacked cheese. I think only one of the 3 i could taste cheese. For $15 too, i think 4 would've been acceptable, instead of 3 little rolls. But thats my opinion. The draft beer was not cold, just a little chilled. When i order a draft beer i want & hope for an ice cold draft.
My wifes order was an issue & i hope they understand the seriousness of gluten allergy now. She let our waitress know she has Celiac & gluten allergy. So she ordered the same burger but with gluten free bun & asked to replace the breaded onion straws for regular raw onion instead. Which was no problem & she put in the order just as asked. When she got her burger, she opened it up to also see a small pile of breaded onion straws in the middle. We alerted the waitress about it & she apologized & brought it back to have another one brought out made correctly. A couple minutes went buy & i assume it was one of the cooks, came out with another burger with raw onion on it & apologized for it coming out wrong. Being so quick to come out & looking like the same burger, we asked if it was the same burger. He said yes. You just cant do that! So she told him she cant eat that & i told him she could get very ill. We explained its already contaminated with gluten. Breading & breading grease all over it. He apologized and they went to make another. My wife could've gotten ill. Bloating, diarrhea, fatigue & she is very proned to getting blood blisters/sores in her mouth if she acidentally consumes gluten. It causes the immune system to create antibodies to attack the small intestine. Consuming gluten for a Celiac increases risk of non-Hodgkins lymphoma, small bowel cancer, liver disease. Its apparent mistakes happen but either the business or cooks have to be educated on the importance of understanding gluten free/allergy, for someone with Celiac disease. Overall, not sure if we'd come back. Wife now a little nervous after what happened. That night she wanted a burger but thought the Chicken 65 on the menu looked like it would be really good. Its ashame, because it was a nice place & every employee we had contact with was very friendly. For $130, the food was lacking.
