Folietta

This (relatively) new restaurant was about 3/4 full when we arrived at 6:15pm and there was lots of staff around. Our server Brenda was professional, knowledgeable and attentive - until it all evaporated. Appetizers (Burrata, squid, Gnudi & Pomodoro) were prompt and delicious. A very good recommendation on wines from our Server Brenda; yet the wine was opened, poured; and nobody ever returned to pour any more. The LONG wait between appetizers and mains of about 35+ minutes was unacceptable. I flagged our server after about 15 minutes - and she advised that they were being made. Meanwhile many apparent managers and supervisors kept cruising around. Its obvious that there was an issue in the kitchen - as by that point, (7:30pm) half the restaurant had emptied and there were few additional guests seated> The chicken Saltimbocca was excellent -though note, comes with nothing else on the plate. The two pastas were starchy, glutenous and too much pasta in relation to the purported main ingredient. Pastas were sent back and although replacements were offered, we had been there for 1 1/2 hours at that point and just wanted to leave. The restaurant is obtrusively noisy - way beyond 'energetic', to the extent that conversations between 3 people, were difficult at best. This is not a place to go if you want to speak with others. About half the staff disappeared around 8pm - and I had to flag down a server to get our check, as our server seemed to have become absent.

As a Celiac, I’m always a bit cautious when trying a new spot—but Folietta place blew me away. The staff were super knowledgeable and took the time to make sure everything was safe, and the service was genuinely attentive from start to finish. I had some of the best pasta and fish I’ve had in ages—both gluten-free and absolutely delicious. It’s rare to find a place that gets both safety and flavor right. Well done—five stars from me.
