The food was both tasty and interesting. The drinks were yummy but not too sweet. I should preface this by saying that we walked in with 4 kids, one of which a type 1 diabetic with Celiac’s. We absolutely expected rolled eyes and grumbles as soon as they saw us but instead, we were welcomed and seated right away. They let us know that while they had run out of gluten-free hamburger buns, they’d accommodate with lettuce which was a reasonable substitute and something we were used to. They clearly understood the challenges of a gluten allergy.
Our server was very attentive and we felt like we were never waiting for our food or drinks. We usually never eat in Ogunquit. Restaurant host in this town hate us because we have kids. They don’t know that we tip really well (because I used to be a server and a bartender myself) or that our children are very well-behaved (or else we wouldn’t bring them out in public). Usually hosts in this town take one look at us and purposely make us wait when there’s no wait because they don’t want to serve us.
Food for thought sat us and served us with a smile. The music was great. The drinks were strong and abundant. The food was amazing. The staff treated my kids like they were real people. And as an added bonus, they could accommodate a gluten free diet and guarantee no cross contamination.
While they are a bit pricey, everything here is and they’re worth every penny so if you’re gonna splurge, splurge here. You won’t regret it!
