Forchetta Italian Eatery

Growing up in So Philly in an Italian neighborhood and eating delicious Italian food on a routine basis, I am often skeptical of restaurants that offer “authentic “ Italian food. I am pleased to say that Forchetta Italian Eatery exceeded our expectations. I knew we made the right decision as soon as we walked i, with our greeting of “Buona Sera” from the owner and beautiful music playing quitely in the background. We ordered gnocchi al ragu, veil Marsala , eggplant parmigiana, and most importantly, gluten free penne pasta with a bolognese sauce. Each dish was authentic and absolutely delicious. Our waiter, Igor, provided exceptional service and had a great personality as well. I would encourage ANYONE, who is looking for authentic Italian dining, to look no further than Forchetta. My dad is straight up Italian-100%. His mom grew up in Italy i'm cooking for all of the village weddings, so she always made everything homemade. He doesn't really find much italian food that he likes. He rated their fettuccine alfredo 9/10, which is really impressive! My mom, on the other hand can't stay in garlic and they were able to make her a dinner that she actually enjoyed, which is also odd for an Italian restaurant for her. My mom and I are also gluten-free and they had some really good options and had great service for us!!!

This for fellow gluten free goers. I cannot comment on the rest of their food as I just had the gluten free pizza. It is over priced and while the crust itself actually wasn’t too bad, the pizza is flavorless. It is not made in house from what I understand. It is purchased ready made. It was very disappointing especially at the price increase over their regular pizzas. I hope the rest of their food is much better. I will say the service was very good in terms of placing the order and pick up.
