tl;dr: RUN! Run, Forrest, run! You won't be getting that box of chocolates here, or anything else for that matter. Do not make the same mistake we made to ignore the 1-star reviews.
Our Experience:
I saw the recent negative reviews and said to myself "They mostly have good reviews, maybe it's just a rough patch. Mistakes happen. Give them a chance and they'll make it right and bounce back." I was wrong.
We ordered and paid for our son's birthday cake well in advance. We made it clear his birthday party starts at 2pm and we need the cake by then. She agreed. "Absolutely! No problem" she said.
On the day of the party, we messaged her one hour before start time asking if we can come pick up the cake. "What cake? OMGosh I forgot. excuses excuses blablablahh. I'll make it right now." She hadn't even started yet. We asked if it will be ready for pickup within a couple of hours? No response. A couple of hours later we asked if we can pick up a partially made cake (at least our son will have a cake and blow a candle in his photos to remember his 1st birthday). Still no response. When the party was over we told her we don't want the cake anymore now we just want a refund, even partial. Again, no response.
At 6:30PM, well after the party was over, she texted saying she doesn't do refunds at all... and the cake will be ready in an hour.
Unbelievable!
The Pros:
- Communicates well prior to ordering, before you pay.
The Cons:
- You won't get your cake. At least not on time.
- No refunds. No apologies. No remorse. No exceptions.
- Impossible to get your money back. Contrary to what it says in the "About" section, she does not accept credit/debit cards or even PayPal. Only Zelle and Venmo. While this may seem convenient, it is impossible to dispute the charges and get your money back (like you can with CC or PayPal) unless she willingly refunds it, which she won't. This particular choice of payment options is very popular among scammers. Jusst saying.
- Not registered to do business in Texas. No food permit/license. No food safety and health inspections. Are the utensils and prep area cleaned and maintained properly? Are the ingredients expired? Is it really vegan/gluten-free? Who knows? Just put your hands together, bow your head, and pray that whatever comes out of that kitchen in Apartment 70 (if anything) is safe for you and your children.
