Newer hotel (opened July 2017) with a very modern design. We had an issue with our first room, the patio door wouldn't seal properly, the concierge addressed the issue quickly by giving us another room. Our room (210) had an excellent view of Lake Myvatn and the Aurora happening that night. There was a small fridge and safe which were located inside a cabinet in the room. The wifi connection in the room was good. The breakfast was the best I've encountered so far in Iceland with bacon, scrambled eggs, and sausage for hot options. A good gluten free selection too. Great water pressure in shower.
They are still working on the building so there's some construction going on outside which detracts from the exterior's appearance.

A beautiful new hotel, a well-equipped room, spacious and spacious. Amazing view of the lake. Excellent breakfast including gluten free bread and cookies. We saw the northern lights here
