Sometimes you get the weirdest experiences in a big chain. As we entered we indicated that one of my eating companions had a gluten intolerance. We sat down and ordered drinks, and that companion ordered a simple glass of tap water. As the waitress arrived with the drinks, she realised that the gluten free diner was with me and refused to serve her the glass of tap water until she had it checked to be gluten free! A new experience for is all.
Aside from that, the dining experience was pleasant. Our server (not the drinks), Ashley, was friendly and helpful. The restaurant and toilets were clean. Frankies and Benny’s have gone through some big changes recently and I haven’t forgiven them yet for taking the Calzone off the menu. It’s lost much of the whole 50’s and 60’s diner vibe that gave it character and now competes against the rest in the race to the bottom. But I can’t complain about this single restaurant. Plenty of car parking at the centre and access is great. Free wifi and when we went during the week it was very quiet. A good all round experience.
