Fritz & Frites Bistro

My friend and I dined here the first night we arrived in Galena and had such a great experience that we decided to eat here the next two nights also. The place has quaint cozy bistro vibes. The food is delicious and flavorful, our favorite being the hangar steak. The kitchen easily accommodated my gluten free dietary needs. There is an extensive beer list and a good wine list. But the strength of the establishment is the very friendly attentive service of the wait staff and chef. I have never felt more welcomed at a restaurant or well attended to. A special nod to Lisa and Sarah for making our time spent here so memorable!

Happy to leave an excellent review of this lovely spot. The menu is very friendly to Gluten Free folks, and no flavors are spared. My wife and I dined here November of 2024, the service was terrific and so was the food. We had an evening special mushroom soup (GF) and the onion gratinee and both were outstanding in flavor and texture and as savory as they could be. We had Sauerbraten (which is GF) and Wienerschnitzel (with mushroom sauce) as our mains and I would put these both in the Epic echelon for every category. We finished with apple strudel (because why not?) and a GF chocolate cake and outstanding coffee. I used a lot of adjectives here, let me clearly say again that everything was better than I hoped for, every part. I wish we had stayed longer so we could dine there again. To the owners, chef and staff- You have a really warm place with great food, thank You for Your effort!
