Frothy Monkey

I’m from New York and on the way to the airport, I wanted to find a nice brunch spot somewhere near. I saw the reviews and pictures of this place and thought it would be a great place to try. The moment I come in, I already love the vibe of this place. Not only that but our server was very nice and friendly. We got the Farm Breakfast, Smash Burger, and the Royale Sandwich as our mains, along with the gluten-free blueberry muffin. And let me tell you they were absolutely delicious!! We also ordered a Matcha Latte with oat milk and the Golden Monkey Latte, and the drinks were phenomenal. They were so concentrated and the flavours were so rich, it made me love Matcha. Overall as a person who just was looking for something light to eat on the way back home, this was amazing! Anyone near this area must try this place out! I definitely recommend getting the dishes we got but if you wanna try something else I’m probably sure it won’t disappoint. If I am ever back in town I will definitely be coming back!

I’ve always loved Frothy Monkey, especially my past experiences in Franklin, TN, where the food, service, and atmosphere have consistently been top-notch. Unfortunately, our visit to the Birmingham location was the complete opposite. The service felt awkward and disconnected, and the food was disappointing across the board. My omelet was overcooked with tough, old bacon, and they didn’t have gluten-free toast available, which was one of the main reasons we chose to eat here. My husband ordered biscuits and gravy, which arrived cold, with a biscuit that was hard and dry. He switched his meal, but also received old inedible bacon. The coffee, which is usually a highlight at Frothy Monkey, was subpar and lacked the usual attention to detail, no foam art or fresh presentation. We left feeling disappointed and underwhelmed. I hope this location can align more closely with the quality and care we’ve come to expect from Frothy Monkey elsewhere.

Had a delicious breakfast and piping hot coffee. Delicious. Very attentive service. Wonderful to have gluten free options. Would visit all the time if I lived in Birmingham. Nice spot to eat and do a little work.
