I’ve only eaten here a few times but wanted to extend my thanks with a review. I have a lot of unfortunate stomach issues but one of my favorite meals is chicken Marsala, and at least from what I’ve tried in Harlem, Fumo’s is my favorite. They are very accommodating of intolerance and allergies, and do their best to make things work from the times I’ve ordered. Despite making it with my dietary restrictions, you can tell the chef is gifted in their work, it’s times like these I wish I could tell them directly, so I hope they see this and do!! The dish was still very flavorful, the chicken was cooked just right for chicken breast, tender and soaks up the Marsala gravy very well. They give you a GOOD amount of spinach, which I find rare for restaurants to do.. to me, vegetables are important! I’ve ordered it once a long time ago, and today ordering it again reminded me how satisfied I was. It’s a lot of food for me, so I am able to stretch it over two days. The price is very fair, about $26 for 2 pieces of chicken and spinach with lots of perfectly cooked mushrooms. It’s a win-win. This keeps me wanting to try other items on the menu for next time.
The only other thing I wish was different with Fumo was a separate fryer, the fries aren’t gluten free ):
I had the gluten free pizza twice when I first moved to Harlem in 2023… respectively a miss, due to the crust. I recommend every restaurant use caputo crust or make their own (rising) crust. Their crust is thin and hard unfortunately. The vegan pizza is tasty, despite that. The only reason I wouldn’t get it again is because of the crust.
Would recommend Fumo Harlem 👍🏽
